                Incident Management Courses

Here at Hazmat Response Solutions we offer several levels of Incident Management Courses. Whether you are a front line responder or Incident Command we have the courses for you.

ICS 100

Prerequisites: None

ICS 100, Introduction to Incident Command System, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. It also explains the relationship between ICS and the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The Emergency Management Institute developed it's ICS courses collaboratively with National Wildlife Coordinating Group (NWCG) U.S Department of Agriculture,  United States Fire Administation's National Fire Program's Branch. Course Objectives: At the completion of this course, you should be able to: Explain the principles and basic structure of the Incident Command System (ICS). Describe the NIMS management characteristics that are the foundation of the ICS.  Describe the ICS functional areas and the roles of the Incident Commander and Command Staff. Describe the General Staff roles within ICS.  Identify how NIMS management characteristics apply to ICS for a variety of roles and discipline areas. 

ICS 200 

Prereqs: ICS 100, Nims 700 & 800

IS 200 Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, reviews the Incident Command System (ICS) provides the context for ICS within initial response, and supports higher level ICS training. This course provides training on and resources for, personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position within ICS.  The Emergency Management Institute developed its ICS courses collaboratively with: Mational Wildlife Coordinating Group (NWCG) U.S Department of Agriculture, United States Fire Administration's National Fire Programs Branch. Course Objectives: At the completeion of this course, you should be able to:

Describe how the NIMS Management Characteristics relate to Incident Command and Unified Command.
Describe the delegation of authority process, implementing authorities, management by objectives, and prepartness plans and objectives
Identify ICS organizational components, the Command Staff, the General Staff and ICS tools
Describe different types of briefings and meetings.
Explain flexibility within the standard ICS organizational structure
Explain transfer of command briefings and procedures.
Use IICS to manage an incident or event

Primary Audience: The intended audience (s) are response personnel at the supervisory level who are involved with emergency planning, response, or recovery efforts.

ICS 300 - Intermidiete ICS for expanding incidents

Prereqs: ICS 100,200, IS-700, IS-800

Description: This course provides training for personnel who require advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). This course explands on information covered in the ICS 100 and ICS 200 Courses.

Course Objectives:
Describe how the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Command and Management component supports the managements of expanding incidents.
Describe the Incident/Event Management process for supervisors and expanding incidents as prescribed by the Incident Command System (ICS).
Implement the Incident Management process on a simulated Type 3 incident.
Develop an Incident Action Plan for a simulated incident.

Target Audience:
Personnel seeking qualifications requiring ccompletion of ICS-300

ICS 400

Prereqs: ICS 100,200,300, IS-700, IS-800

Description: The ICS-400 is a two-day course that provides training for personnel who requires advanced application of the Incident Command System (ICS). This course expands information covered in ICS-100 through ICS-300 Intermideate ICS Courses all of which are prerequisites for the ICS-400 Course.

Course Objectives:
Explain how major incidents engender special management challenges.
Describe the circumstances in which an area command is established.
Describe the circumstances in which multi-agency coordination systems are established

Target Audience: State and local first responder senior personnel

All of the above ICS classes qualify for NJ Division of Fire Safety Incident Management Level Certifications, Level 1,2 & 3
